Abass is responsible for the strategic and business development of the company.

He has extensive knowledge and experience in Strategic Management, Engineering Operations and Maintenance, Project Management, Asset Management, Transport Management and Labour Relations Management.

Abass has 40 years engineering experience in the mining as well as petrochemical industries and 25 years as an Engineering Manager. His most recent assignment was that of Engineering Leader (Strategy) for ARM’s Two Rivers Platinum mine.

Responsible for Terminal and Maritime Operations for the Company.

He possesses more than 26 years of progressive experience in Oil Industry Management, Fire and Safety Management. Some of his duties included being the Chairman of the Joint Oil Industry Forum, Representative to the Oil Industry in Port related matters, National Port Representative to the NPCC (National Ports Consultative Committee), Incident Commander for the Joint Marine and Terminal Facilities for the Oil Industry and appointed PFSO (Port Facility Security Officer).

He formed part of a select panel as Oil Industry Subject Specialist to the Ministry of Transport and National Intelligence and ensured the completion of Port Risk Assessments and compilations of Port Facility Security Plans.

Farouk is responsible for the HSEQ and Transport function of the Company.

He has extensive knowledge and experience in HSEQ in terms of operating standards in terminals, transport contractor auditing and management, statutory compliance of the transport contractor and vehicles as well as being an accredited auditor for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

In addition, he is a registered PATROM trainer and Lead Investigator. Farouk has 27 years of experience in Petrochemical transportation of which 20 years has been with Total SA where he most recently held the position of National Transport Technical Specialist.
